EPDM combines excellent resistance to deterioration due to the effects of ozone, oxygen, weather, heat and many chemicals.
Its serviceable temperature range is -40°F to +250°F and
intermittent to +275°F.
It is not recommended for use in contact with petroleum oils or fluids
Hardness tolerance for a nominal IRHD value of 60 is ±5
Tensile strength at least: 9 MPa
Elongation at break %: >300
Ageing for 7 days at 70°C the material must still be within the following property ranges;
Hardness change max/min: +8/-5
Tensile strength drop as a percentage: -20%
Elongation change as a percentage: +10%/ -30%
Stress Relaxation maximum reduction in % - 7 days @70°: <15% relaxation of tensile stress - 100 days @23°C: <22% relaxation of tensile stress
Water Absorption - Volume change in water - Test for 7 days immersion @ 70°C note volume change: Acceptable range is from -1% up to +8% net change in volume
